So, I’m not always Johnny-on-the-spot when it comes to uploading my artwork as I produce it. Many of these are the pencils and inked stages of previous pieces that I have kept meaning to post and just recently found the time to do so.
The only “new” artwork is the Wonder Woman sketch and the colored and inked versions of the dragon piece, both of which I just recently buttoned-up.
Whew! This guy was a lot of work! What’s really funny about this one is that I didn’t realize until I was coming into the home stretch with the colors that perspective on the temple was hideously off.
Like,”how the hell did I not see that WAY sooner” sorta off.
Fortunately, Photoshop is one hell of a program and it was a pretty easy fix. I’m really glad I worked in multiple layers. It made fixing this little goof up (I still can’t believe I didn’t see that sooner) that much easier to clean up.
The first of many pieces for 2017! The more I use Manga Studio the more I love inking in it. Still not a fan of coloring in it, but maybe I just haven’t found the right process yet. Until then, there’s still good ol’ Photoshop!
A friend needed help with her group project for her pediatrics class. The goal of the project was to create a board game that could help kids to develop healthy habits for eating and exercise. She asked me to draw the board while she and her group figured out all the game mechanics.
It was fun getting to work on a project that had a set of parameters. Sometimes when I’m told just do whatever you want I get that deer in the headlights feeling. “But there’s so much I want to do. Where do I even start?”
A little something that has been tying me up for the last few weeks. It was an interesting process learning to bop back and forth between Manga Studio and Photoshop. Really proud of how all my characters turned out!
Keeping busy with these works in progress!
I had fun with the storytelling in this illustration. I’m pretty pleased with how all of the glowing knockouts turned out.
