Geez, getting this illustration done was a lot harder than it should have been! The first issue I ran into was my Wacom tablet up and died on me. That was resolved by the awesome people at Wacom customer service for a low nominal fee.
Next, I downloaded the newest version of Photoshop to try out all of it’s new toy’s, but apparently it has more than a few bugs. After a couple of times on the phone with Adobe, I found out the particular bug that I was running into (saving issues) won’t be fixed until the next version (19.1).
In the mean time I busted out good ol’ Manga Studio and knocked this guy out!
Well, unfortunately I haven’t been able to do any inking recently. The mini USB port to my Wacom tablet actually pulled out of the tablet itself when I unplugged the cable so now it looks like I have to send … Continue reading →

Whew! This guy was a lot of work! What’s really funny about this one is that I didn’t realize until I was coming into the home stretch with the colors that perspective on the temple was hideously off. Like,”how the hell did I not see that WAY sooner” sorta off.
Fortunately, Photoshop is one hell of a program and it was a pretty easy fix. I’m really glad I worked in multiple layers. It made fixing this little goof up (I still can’t believe I didn’t see that sooner) that much easier to clean up.
The first of many pieces for 2017! The more I use Manga Studio the more I love inking in it. Still not a fan of coloring in it, but maybe I just haven’t found the right process yet. Until then, there’s still good ol’ Photoshop!
A little something that has been tying me up for the last few weeks. It was an interesting process learning to bop back and forth between Manga Studio and Photoshop. Really proud of how all my characters turned out!
