Fan art published!

Shortly after posting this image of Maika Halfwolf and Zinn to Instagram I was approached by Monstress’s editorial assistant, Ceri Riley about using it at a later date for their fan art section! It took a little over a year, but here we are!! It was a super cool experience and I couldn’t be happier…

Getting Back into Ink Washes

I’ve been having a lot of fun getting back into working with ink washes and water colors. Lately I’ve been really inspired by Olivier Coipel’s instagram feed, and decided to pick it up again. I thought it would be fun to do a series of my favorite X-Men and X-Women to reacquaint myself with the…

All Hallows Eve

I set this project up with working on my hatching skills in mind, specifically for tones and playing with light sources. Also, I wanted to do a fun horror piece considering that I didn’t have the time to do so back in October. As is the case with most of my art work I try…

A Bullying Story

Back in August I ran across a social justice contest put together by the University of Michigan’s College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA) and my local comic shop, The Vault of Midnight. It was attached to a speaking event at U of M with guests Congressman John Lewis, Andrew Aydin and Nate Powell…

Why I love Photoshop

Whew! This guy was a lot of work! What’s really funny about this one is that I didn’t realize until I was coming into the home stretch with the colors that perspective on the temple was hideously off. First of 2017!

The first of many pieces for 2017! The more I use Manga Studio the more I love inking in it. Still not a fan of coloring in it, but maybe I just haven’t found the right process yet. Until then, there’s still good ol’ Photoshop!

Contest Submission

A little something that has been tying me up for the last few weeks.  It was an interesting process learning to bop back and forth between Manga Studio and Photoshop. Really proud of how all my characters turned out!

W.I.P.

Keeping busy with these works in progress!

More Spider-man!

Boy, figuring out the fish-eye lens perspective on this was super challenging! It still isn’t perfect but sometimes you just have to get the damn thing done. 🙂 I really dug using Manga Studio for the inking on this project. It made the process go so much faster than if I had tried to ink…

Working on some inking

Inks, inks and more inks! First and foremost is the fan art that I did for my man Tom Rogers who is currently working on the Herald: Lovecraft and Tesla.  It’s a damn good read y’all.  They’re only on issue 3 so if you’re interested now is the time to dig in! Next is my…
